             Is it necessary for all family members to take the "deworming" medicine as we do with allopathic medicine where all of us are asked to take the medicine even when only one person is suffering from worm disease?
         
           We homeopaths are frequently asked this question. My answer is an emphatic no. and the reason is first of all we are not attempting any "deworming". Whet we are doing is to enhance the patients capacity to effectively expel the worms by creating an internal homeostasis where the worms will no longer be able to survive. 
           This we achieve by administering the symptomatically similar homeopathic medicine in its minimum dose, thereby providing the vital energy of the person the necessary energy and support to effectively adjust the body environment.
          Secondly we cannot blindly administer a medicine, symptomatically selected for one patient, to all his family members since each one of them would require their individual similimum to adjust their life energy.
          This very question brings us to the superiority of Homeopathy over the so called  Modern Medicine. We can effectively relieve one individual without ever disturbing any other member of the society with unnecessary prescription.
           Next time when you are face with this one or similar question please explain the way we work and try to convince the patient with logical and scientific explanation rather than a simple affirmative or negative word.

Examination Tension  and Homeopathy

Unable to get deserving grades in an examination or interview even after through preparation is a heart breaking incident. But many of our students are facing this dilemma. It is usually the result of anxiety and fear many of us face prior to an examination or interview. 

Some of us will get to overcome this fear and anxiety by simple words of encouragement from family, friends and teachers. But a lot many of those who suffer from examination related fear and anxiety need to get counselling and medication. 

Over expectation, feeling of insult that is imagined if performance does not match with that of siblings who where shining stars of yesteryear, focusing on results at time when the effort ought to have been better on delivering the acquired knowledge is often the cause of under performance. Usually a general state of anticipation anxiety contribute to fear of examination. 
Parents, teachers and relatives who are unwilling to accept anything other than the best grades pressure kids to feel insecure. Whole the words of caution, encouragement and attempts to get the best out of the students is necessary, it is equally important to assure them that they are accepted for what they are and not for measuring up to the expectations we have of them. There is no point in putting undue and unbearable pressure on kids. In this era of cut throat competition it is very common place to see parents who are instilling anxiety in children.

In this context two things, one expressed lucidly in BHAGAVAD GEETA , in the discourse between Arjuna and Krishna; and the second one a quote from one of the greatest scientists of our times is worth remembering :

Use 2 Abuse and Dangerous Consequences 

        IF any one who is conversant with medical science is asked to express his opinion on discovery of antibiotics and it's significance in overall health and well being of the society he would definitely rank it as invaluable. Perhaps words will be inadequate to express the life saving potential of antibiotics and the immense good it did to the sick. 

         In the beginning antibiotics were used with fear, care and caution. But as in any case where it is said "familiarity breeds contempt", antibiotics too are victims of this adage. It is being prescribed for flimsy reasons and no reason at all. Just like 3 other much hyped human inventions, Fertilizers, Pesticides and plastic, antibiotics are now in discussion much more for the dangers resulting from it's abuse than for the benefits it is still capable of delivering.
          We are at cross roads. Antibiotic resistance is rising alarmingly and death due to antibiotic resistant microbes like MRSA,TDR TB etc are now threatening human race. Super bugs are no more science fiction characters but a reality. Given the fact that no new antibiotics that are capable of dealing with super bugs without damaging human organs and systems is forthcoming in the recent times make it much more scary a situation.
          Competition among doctors, techniques adopted by drug makers to create unwanted and often unfounded fear among laity in an attempt to push up market share, the demand from the patient for quick fix without understanding the consequences of antibiotic abuse are all contributing to a very dangerous situation.
          We need to address these matters with a sense of urgency. It need to be impressed upon both patients and doctors alike that abuse of antibiotics is no child play.
          Homeopathy offers the world a better and safer way to conquer diseases without tilting the balance of healthy co existence between the human beings and the ever invincible organisms that are in plenty in and around each one of us.  If we are to be thinking that we will be healthy in a universe devoid of all other microbes, we are definitely in a fools paradise. We will never be able to wipe out all the harmful germs. In the process and attempt we may even strengthen  them in their fight to survive.
            It is in this context that homeopathy will play a key role.  Homeopathy is in theory and practice attempting  to create only a condition of homeostasis between the human being and the environment, that too by the strengthening of the very life energy of the human being. Homeopathy is not in any direct fight with the organisms and in a healthy environment created by the right use of homeopathic medicine the microbes are no threat to humanity.
            Now if you feel that homeopathy can't deal with highly infectious organisms you are not well aware of homeopathy. But if for argument  sake  we accept that contention, then let the ever powerful antibiotic be preserved as last resort against the otherwise invincible microbe than the first line of attack against silly infection.
            Together let us create a healthy human race ...............

                                                 Minimum decency please !!

        Most of the homeopaths are treating diseases that are already diagnosed by allopathic physicians and are under their active management. During the course of management the under allopathy they are subjected to various investigations and are diagnosed on the basis of the results of these investigations and clinical information.
        When such patients, who are already diagnosed and are getting actively managed, decide to shift his treatment to homeopathy and get relief to his symptoms and investigations show improvement in his parameters which usually revert back to normal, is it not  proof  enough to convincingly say that homeopathy works ?
          Now  the homeopathy biters  start saying that at times some disease revert back to normal spontaneously ! But this spontaneous reversal is not in their knowledge and explanation when they make their  very own sacred prescriptions and thrust it on the patient !!
         Detractors of homeopathy are very vocal in announcing homeopathy as a placebo. But they fail to note that 99.99% of all the ailments to which they prescribe are being cured effectively by homeopathy. If homeopathy is still a placebo only that placebo is far superior to all the medicines they prescribe to innocent patients and must replace all their medicines, most of them highly toxic and dangerous, with our sweet and safe pills.

      We expect at least this minimum decency from our detractors and that is our right.
